Cape Verde is a special country for me! Kees and I flew there in 2014 to celebrate both my 24th birthday and 100th country!!! If I’m honest, after experiencing 100 countries, it was not one of the ones that BLEW me away. Having said that, it was still a very wonderful holiday.
Cape Verde is a collection of islands off the west coast of Africa. We stayed on the island Boa Vista at a stunning all-inclusive Riu Hotel.
Boa Vista is basically a floating sand pile in the ocean so we spent most of our time relaxing in the sun at the resort and drinking pinacoladas by the pool. We went on a jeep tour to a wreck ship on the beach, a big draw for Kees was kite surfing (actually one of the main reasons we chose Cape Verde), quading along the coast and in the sand dunes. The video at the end of this Friday Fotos photo essay summarizes our time in Cape Verde perfectly!
