As we waited in the eerie, predawn light, we heard
nothing but the sound of our own raspy, laboured breathing. We were up so high that the mountains and
clouds were parallel to us and, like the gods sitting atop Mount Olympus, we could see where the tall
mountains poked their noses out from the clouds.
