Again this weeks country is on my wish list. Mom, Ammon and Dad have all been there though. This is what they say about it:
What a beautiful country with its 17000+ islands, excellent diving, more volcanoes than anywhere else, rare animals, exotic ruins and 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
There is so much to see and do in Indonesia. We went to see the Komodo dragons on their very own island, visited Prambanan an 8th century Hindu temple compound that is now a world heritage site and Borobudur a 9th century Buddhist temple the largest in the world also a UNESCO site. Visited the large cities as well as walking through the quiet small villages. Rode motorcycles up to the coloured lakes of Kelimutu National_Park and hiked back down. We travelled by ferries to several islands including Bali. Snorkeling and diving are great because 20% of the world’s coral reefs are in Indonesia, there are over 3,000 different species of fish and the water is warm. 🙂
There are also orangutans and the Rafflesia arnoldii to see. We were lucky to go see those in Borneo Malaysia.
The food is good. Getting around is cheap and very easy although the ferries are the slowest we have ever been on and at times it seemed we could have swum across faster.
The people are very friendly and helpful and we stayed with a several couch surfers. It’s the most populous muslim nation though culturally it is very different from the middle east.
We wouldn’t hesitate to go back there some day and see more of this amazing country.
Stay tuned for more #FridayFotos. Next week is Iran

Great country. Love your photos. My wife is from Makassar on Sulawesi Island. Yogya is one of my favorite places with Borobudur and Prambanan. Keep traveling.
