Although we only spent a total of 5 days in Armenia it was enough to prove, yet again, that just because a country is less famous, doesn’t mean a thing about its touristic value. As a family we backpacked across the Caspian Sea from Turkmenistan to the Caucuses. Armenia, a country landlocked by Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, was one I’d previously never heard of and was surprised by how much it had to offer. Breathtaking landscapes, hiking trails, ancient temples, a tear-jerking genocide memorial and detailed architecture lining cobblestone streets. If you’re looking to explore just beyond the beaten path, Armenia is a good choice.
Perhaps the photos below will persuade you to book your next trip!
