Hey! I’m Savannah Grace! I’m a 30-year-old Canadian travelling to every country in the world (117 so far) to become the youngest female to visit them all.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and have been living in The Netherlands for the past 12 years.

I didn’t catch the travel bug on my own, it was more like my family stuck it in my back pocket and I’ve been stuck with it ever since. As a FAMILY we travelled to 80+ countries, and collectively we have visited 178 countries. Sister Breanna Watkins has visited 123 countries, I have visited 117 countries, Maggie-the-Mom has visited 130 countries and brother Ammon has visited 164 countries and Antarctica too. We want to be the FIRST FAMILY where each member visits EVERY single country in the world. We want to inspire others and show you that ANYTHING is possible, and family is FOREVER.

I have been actively documenting my travels for more than a decade, starting when I was just 14 years old writing on our family blog www.watkinstravel.blogspot.com . I am the founder of #TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) Twitter chat which now regularly ranks as one of the top travel chats in the world.

Since the release of my bestselling travel series Sihpromatum, which includes “I Grew My Boobs in China” and “Backpacks and Bra Straps”, I have gained a readership of 100,000+ and am currently working on Vol. 3 “Rusty Tracks and Booby Traps”.

When everything from her pets to the house she lived in are either sold, given away or put in storage, this naïve teenage girl runs headlong into the reality and hardships of a life on the road.

Together as a family they travelled on an extreme budget for four years and visited 80 countries. Now each of the family members have visited over 100 countries, combined they have visited 177 and still adding. This is a tale of feminine maturation – of Savannah’s metamorphosis from ingenue to woman-of-the-world. Nibbling roasted duck tongues in China and being stranded in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert are just two experiences that contribute to Savannah’s exploration of new cultures and to the process of adapting to the world around her.”

  1. I have almost finished reading Backstraps, and am enjoying it so much. Looking forward to the next in the series.
    PS. I also enjoyed the first book, and have learnt so much by looking up on the net about the places you have been.

  7. I just finished reading your first book. I really enjoyed it. What an adventure! Look forward to read the following story.. I enjoy traveling but haven’t gone yet to China and Mongolia . In Asia, I have been to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Hong Kong …it was an amazing time for my husband and I to go where life is different than in North America. I live in North Van but grew up in Quebec.

    • Thank you for your compliments. Yes, we travelled there for 5 months and spent nearly 400 hours on the trains in third class! It was quite the experience and I am currently writing the third book in the series, “Rusty Tracks and Booby Traps” which is about our time in India.

  11. Savannah!!!! I FINALLY started reading the books after having them on my shelf for 2+ years, and oh my goodness I have not put them down since I opened them! I was hoping your next book would be out by now, but looks like I’ll have to wait. I’ve loved following your family’s adventures, and am excited to see the next ones!

  20. I am travelling se asia and read books on kindle which is where I read Backpacks…. Interestingly I had actually met you at a music festival several years back in Kelwood Manitoba and got your other book, I grew my boobs……..was impressed by your travels. Keep writing.

  25. I’m 1/3 through the first book and it’s bringing back so many memories of my time teaching and traveling through China. I am reading this book to help me get through the isolation of living on a farm during Covid. It’s really helping! For moments, I feel like I’m out traveling the world again. It is so exhilarating and freeing…and yes, at times terrifying when you’re the person actually living it. But that’s part of the rush! Thanks for the great read!

  28. Just a really fun and inspiring read. It is true that travelling gets into your blood and you just can’t quit! At 18, I travelled for four years on my own, around the world! Then throughout my working life,I would moan and cry that vacation time in Canada is so short. Those three week vacations were just a taste! The second I retired I allowed myself to take as long as I wanted to really experience the world. I’m still going strong at 72. YEA!
    I have journals on every adventure since I was 18…..incredible stories that I’m slowly writing out for the 11 grandkids.(But travel often gets in the way LOL)
