Turning Work Into a 5-star Holiday!

Hotel Rigat. SpainWhile Mom and I were down in Spain attending the Travel Blogger Conference #TBEX, we stayed at Hotel Rigat. The conference took up most of our time, but returning to Rigat after a late #TBEX party seriously felt like going home. It’s got that cozy, home feeling with all the attention to detail in the carpets, authentic furniture and small decorations.

Staying at the Hotel Rigat was a vacation in itself. The place was like a museum I could spend hours exploring. I felt like every time I entered a new room I was stepping into a new hotel. Each one had a different design and feel to it, with so much attention paid to the little details.

My favorite room by far was the one with an entirely ivy roof, where you could sit and look out over the ocean.

There was so much to look at; wall-sized oil paintings, old leather furniture, a piano, pool tables, countless fireplaces, large model sailboats, wooden furniture with inlay designs, stained glass lamps, grandfather clocks, candelabras and statues throughout the gardens and sitting areas.

They put thought behind everything right down to the spaces between the stairs. And the most impressive? There was NO dust. Anywhere. Now that deserves a medal.

The Rigat showed me how boring the new modern look is and how special those handmade, detailed decorations are. Everything is unique and has its own special spot.

The large windows were so clear you questioned if there was in fact glass between you and the patio which overlooked that deep blue ocean.

Because we were so busy with the #TBEX conference, Mom and I were so happy that we were able to stay an extra day in Lloret de Mar purely to enjoy the wonderful Rigat resort. The breakfast was always perfect with a huge selection of fruits, bread, cheese, meat, eggs and the service was top. We were served like royalty and taken such good care of, even despite the occasional language barrier.

We really lucked out with great weather, and had the pool with its perfect ocean view all to ourselves to enjoy. It’s a wonder we ever found the courage to leave. You know you’re in the right place when they have an aquarium of lobsters right at the entrance to the restaurant.

And I will never forget that gorgeous ivy staircase up to the Rigat, the exact kind I’ve been dreaming about having in my dream house since I was a kid.

Thank you Cristine at Hotel Rigat and all the wonderful service and hospitality. I loved my stay and would not hesitate to return! Thank you.
